How to get more views on YouTube in 9 simple, quick and FREE steps

The difference between just uploading a video on YouTube, and uploading a video on YouTube that gets LOTS OF VIEWS, can actually be pretty small. What’s surprising is that most people don’t know how to jump the thin line into the “lots of views” boat. What’s even MORE surprising is that jumping the line doesn’t always rely on great video content! In fact I’ve seen a million amazing videos attracting barely any views. Considering YouTube gets 100 HOURS of new uploads every MINUTE!, maybe the fact that some get noticed and some don’t isn’t that mystifying after all.
Believe it or not, the fastest way to increase your view count is to Buy YouTube Views. Almost every major musician is doing this to kick start their videos. Learn more HERE.
This first post in a series of tutorials, tips and strategies, will give you 9 steps to help you get more views, and get you off the ground.
*Here is an updated post by Tegan (one of our resident ninjas) on how to get more views on YouTube for free.
1) Name your video file with relevant keywords before you upload to YouTube. For example: if it is your latest cover of “Rihanna – Diamonds” then the obvious name for the video file is rihanna-diamonds.mov
2) Title your movie with catchy keywords AND BE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH. Similarly you need to create a title that contains your keywords but at the same time is enticing to click. You may even want to go to YouTube and see what is already there when you type “Rihanna Diamonds”. When I did that, the number one video that came up was obviously the original from Rihanna which has over 270,000,000 views titled simply “Rihanna – Diamonds”. One technique is to title your video with a similar title to another popular video. E.g you could use something like “Rihanna – Diamonds (Cover) by Asher Fergusson“. This will give you a good chance of ranking in the “related videos” section of YouTube and therefore bring a ton of extra views. Here is the free tool from YouTube that enables you find the most popular keywords.
3) Fill out the video description with at least 2 – 3 paragraphs of text. This is an important step that most people overlook. YouTube wants to know what your video is about and the video description section is the best way to validate this. So I recommend you either write a 2 minute transcript of the video or at the very least 2 paragraphs explaining its contents. It should include all your main key words in a natural way. For a music video you can put the lyrics to the song or at least some of them.
4) Put all the keywords from the title and description in the “tags” section. The next step is to fill out the YouTube tags section with all the main key words and phrases that relate to your video. This is a super important part of YouTube SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and really helps your video show up in different search results. For example you could use; Rihanna, Rhianna, Rianna, Cover, video, Diamonds, unapologetic, Asher Fergusson. These tags are based on both the example video’s keywords and the keywords of other popular YouTube videos.
Network your video
5) Share your video with all your friends – quickly! YouTube loves new videos and gives them an extra chance to rank well in the first week or so after being uploaded. So to take advantage of this, you’ll need to be a ninja and share the video in every way you know. Get Facebook likes, learn how to get more followers on Twitter and then send it to everyone there. Email it, and tell your friends to do the same if they like the video. If you have a Facebook fanpage then this is perfect content for that page and depending on the fan base can quickly get you a lot of views.rihanna-diamonds-youtube-views
6) Make a video response to an already popular video on YouTube.Using the above example video, the perfect video response choice is Rihanna – Diamonds. This means that your video will appear below this video that has already had over 270 million views. If your title and thumbnail are enticing enough then there is a chance you’ll get 1000’s of referring views.
7) Encourage sharing, allow comments, video responses and embedding of your video. Everyone likes to be heard and if you allow for comments then you will give people that chance. The other thing about comments is that it creates a community around the video and if a conversation is taking place then people will keep coming back. Allowing video responses to your video means a lot of extra people could link to your video via theirs, resulting in many more views. Similarly, if you allow anyone to embed your video on their website, it is like free advertising and the video could easily end up all over the internet. This is often how the most views are achieved with a video.
8 ) Embed your new video prominently on your website to create 2 way traffic. This serves to give your video a link but also additional views that don’t require someone to see it on YouTube. All you need to do is to go to your video on YouTube, click the “< Embed >” button and copy the code. Then go to your website and paste the code in the html wherever you want the video to appear on your site.
9) Have your fellow bloggers reference or embed the video on their site as well. If you have friends who also have websites, ask if they can embed the video for you. Having them write an article is also very good and will increase your views tremendously depending on the traffic they already receive to their site.
10) Buy YouTube Views. Lastly, one little known fact is that with most music videos the record label usually buys somewhere between 1 and 3 million views and 1000’s of likes upon the launch of the video. This is to quickly increase the credibility and help the video go viral. Here at Galaxy Ninja we offer this service and regular work on major music videos as well as business and personal videos. 9 Facebook Video Tips To Help You Increase Views And Traffic

Is Facebook video for small business a win? According to Facebook it is. In fact, they just stated that 4 billion videos are watched on the platform everyday. While this number is probably skewed a bit high considering the fact that videos start playing without you clicking play accounting for many hits. But hey, those numbers are still high.
I too watch at least 5-10 videos a day. I'm a fiend. So to go back to the original question, is Facebook video a win for small business? My answer is yes. It's engaging. It's fun. And people like it.
The key is getting it right for your audience. Content comes first. Always. Without great content these Facebook video tips won't work.

9 Facebook Video Tips To Help You Increase Traffic & Views

1. Upload the video directly to Facebook.
Facebook not only encourages it, they actually show the video to more people if you upload directly.  So if you want to increase your views, you should definitely start here.
2. Always use a call to action.
This is one of my favorite features on Facebook video. When the video is finished you have the option to click on the screen to learn more, shop now, or a variety of other call-to-actions. Use it. It is the best way to drive traffic to your site directly through the video.

3. Edit the title once the video is uploaded.
Once the video is finished uploading make sure you click the edit button. You should change the title of the video to something that you would want to show up in search. It should be different than the description which you'll also have control over.
Facebook Video Tip
4. Chose a powerful thumbnail.
The thumbnail is the first thing people see, make sure it is a good one that calls people in. It should be clear. If you don't like the thumbnails Facebook gives you to work with, you can also upload one.
Facebook Video Tip
5. Add a link in your description.
Besides your description being search friendly, you should always add a link in it. I think it is better to make it so easy to do what you want your viewer to do. Adding a link is a no-brainer.
6. Post at the optimal time.
Posting time is crucial. If you want the most views, post it when the most people are online. It's as simple as that.
7. Embed it on your blog.
I love the idea of embedding your youtube video on your blog like I did here. It allows for cross traffic to your Facebook page from your website. Plus, it gives your blog post that multimedia which is always a good thing!
8. Share your video link on other social channels.
Everything you share needs marketing behind it. That means you should share that link to the video across the web. The more places you put it, the better off you are.
9. Reshare your video on your page.
Once the traffic and views have died down, reshare it on your personal page and to your fan page again. You'll never reach everyone on your FB page so you might as well reshare and comment on older things to bring them to the surface again.

Finding free, legal music for your online videos can be difficult. As an online video creator you want the perfect soundtrack for your video masterpieces, but you also want to make sure that you don’t break any copyright laws. After all, there’s nothing more frustrating then working hard on a video only to have YouTube take it down because of a music copyright violation. Luckily there are some great sources online where you can find the perfect music for your video project. We’ve put together a list of ten great sites for finding royalty free music for your online videos.
Incompetech
Incompetech is one of my go-to places for great royalty free music. The site was created by composer Kevin MacLeod and has tons of music, categorized by genre and feel. In the site’s FAQ you’ll see that the music on the site is free to use for your video soundtrack. Kevin just asks that you place a credit within the video. My favorite music on this particular site are the tracks in the Silent Film Score section, but you can find all sorts of great stuff from horror soundtracks to polka, rock, pop and everything in between.
DanoSongs
Dan-O is a composer that offers his original songs for free download at DanoSongs.com. You can use his songs for free in your project provided you link to his site or credit him in your video.
Moby Gratis
If you want to use music by a well-known artist without paying licensing fees then check out Moby Gratis. At MobyGratis.com, Moby provides doe of his music for free download and use. The music is free to use, provided your film is non-commercial or non-profit.
Free Soundtrack Music
FreeSoundtrackMusic.com provides exactly what it advertises – royalty-free tracks for use in films, YouTube videos, games or other multimedia productions. Some of the music on the site does cost money. However, a lot of it is labeled as “FREE” and can be easily downloaded and added to your video production.
ccMixter
ccMixter is a community music site where you can find tons of music that falls under the Creative Commons license. The site lets you listen to music, sample music, create mashups and more. Just keep in mind that some creative commons licenses may require that you give credit to the source within your video.
Partners In Rhyme
Partners In Rhyme has got all sorts of great stuff, from free music loops to sound effects, midi files and more. Some of the royalty free music on Partners In Rhyme costs money, but they’ve got a selection of free music loops and full-length tracks for free download as well.
PacDV
PacDV offers free music and sound effects. The tracks are free to use in your video, film, audio and multimedia projects. All they ask is that if you use their tracks you link back to their site or list them in your credits.
Public Domain 4U
When content falls into the public domain it means that there are no longer any intellectual property rights attached to them, either because the rights have expired or been forfeited. Public domain music, video and other content can be used in any way, including in your online videos. Public Domain 4U is a great site for finding public domain music downloads. A lot of the music is old (music from the early 1900s is now in the public domain if copyright was never renewed), but there is also more modern music that is free with artist permission.
Musopen
Musopen is another free site that, like Public Domain 4U, provides music that has the copyright expired. On the site’s about page they say, “We provide recordings, sheet music, and textbooks to the public for free, without copyright restrictions.” At Musopen you can browse music by composer, performer, instrument, period or form. Musopen is great, especially if you are looking for classical music for your video.
Beatpick
Finally, Beatpick offers a great selection of licensed music and if you are using it in a non-commercial or non-profit production it’s free. Once you’ve chosen a song that you want to use, click on “License Song” and choose “Non Commercial projects.”
Have you used any of these services to find music for your online videos? If not, what services do you recommend?

7 Little Known Tricks That Will Get You More YouTube Views

So you want to get more YouTube views, but you don’t know where to start? You’ve got the perfect title, tags and description, your video is hilarious and you’ve been promoting like crazy on your Facebook and Twitter page, but your video is still not getting the recognition you think it deserves? We’ve got you covered with a few little known tips that could help skyrocket your YouTube video views.
Before we get started, it’s important to note that Rome wasn’t built in a day and there is no foolproof method for turning your video into an overnight viral success. It may take time for your videos to start taking off, but these seven tips will definitely get you headed in the right direction and get you more views that you’re getting today.
Annotations across videos
You know those little text bubbles that you see popping up on people’s videos with text that says things like “Thumbs Up!” or “Subscribe!”? Those are called YouTube annotations and they are a fantastic way to increase your video views. Through annotations you can link from one video to another, as well as to playlists of your videos, your channel and more, compelling your viewers to watch more of your videos.
Annotations are a great way to point your viewers in the direction of watching your other videos, in order to drive up your view count across your entire channel. Find out more in our post, How To Use YouTube Annotations To Maximize Your Subscribers, Views & Overall YouTube Success and check out annotations in action in the video below. We created a collection of viral video compilations and used annotations to link every single video together, to entice viewers to watch not just one video, but all of the videos in the collection.
Playlists
A lot of YouTube users don’t realize that playlists are a great way to increase your video views. A playlist is a list, or group, of videos that will play in order, one video after another after another. The good thing about playlists is that they come up separately in search results. That means, if you’ve got a video about frogs or a playlist about animals that includes the frog video, viewers will have more opportunities when searching to find your video. They may choose to watch your playlist, or they may choose to watch your frog video.
Additionally, because playlists play your videos automatically one after the other, when viewers watch playlists they typically watch more of your videos, which is great for increasing the views across your channel. Playlists can also be embedded, so viewers can watch all your videos together on your blog or website. Find out more in our post, The Complete Guide To YouTube Playlists, and check out an example of an embedded playlist below.
Subscribers
Subscribers are, hands down, the best way to get more views on your videos. After all, the people that subscribe to you are your fan base and they are ready and waiting for you to upload new videos so that they can check them out. The more subscribers that you’ve got, the more views you will get within the first few days, or even hours, of uploading your video. When someone subscribes to you, all of your new videos will show up on their home page and they may even subscribe to be notified by email when you upload something new to the video site.
How do you get new subscribers? Aside form uploading great content on a regular basis, ask! A lot of viewers aren’t thinking about subscribing to anyone at all, but if an annotation pops up on the screen reminding them to subscribe or, better yet, if you ask them yourself in your video, they will be more likely to click through to subscribe to your future videos.
Bulletins
As you build up your subscriber base it’s important to communicate with your fans. One of the best ways is through bulletins. Just about a year ago, YouTube introduced bulletins. Bulletins let you easily send out text and videos to all of your subscribers and the bulletins appear on the homepage of your subscribers. Don’t be shy – send out bulletins to let your subscribers know when you upload new videos.
Video Responses
Another way in get more views on your YouTube videos is by posting them as video responses on more popular related videos. It’s easy to do and can get you a substantial number of clicks, if you’re lucky and post to the right video.
So how is it done? Head over to the video you’d like to post your video response to. You’ll notice that next to the comment box you can click on “Create a video response”. Click and you’ll be directed to a page that lists all of your videos. Click on the one you’d like to use as your video response. It takes two seconds and can be a great way to get some extra video views.
Community
If you aren’t taking advantage of the YouTube community yet then you’re only hurting yourself. By commenting on videos that you like, subscribing to and following other cool video makers and reaching out to your YouTube “idols” you can do a world of good. Not only does joining the community spread your name around and encourage the people who’s videos you comment on (and others who see your comments) to head over to your channel and check out your videos, but it also helps to broaden your network and open doors for future collaborations.
Collaborating with other YouTubers is great (especially when they have a following of their own) because when you collaborate you introduce one another to your follows, hopefully leading to more subscribers and fans.
Topical Content
Finally, if you want to get a lot of views in a short time then one of your best bets is to create some topic content about something that is big right now. It could be a remix of an already popular video, a cover of a popular song, a review or parody of a movie that just came out, or something related to a big news story. Title your video similarly to that of the original clips, songs, movie trailers, or news stories and not only will your video come up in the same results, but you also might wind up on the sidebar of the popular clips as a recommended video.
